Samuel Gage was listed as a Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer in 1911. In 1915 Samuel was a crew member of the HMS Stephen Furness as the ship's Chief Stoker.
Samuel died on the 25th May 1915 of illness.
He is buried at St Andrew's Church, South Shoebury.
